John my friend as you know i dont partake in the Beer or Spirit anymore, however i must admit in trying a Beer at a Club one Night with my late Brother In Law (Some time ago)
Now on your post you mention about taste!
Yes would agree with you (still recall the taste of some of the awful ones) but mate i must tell you that once you have tried this Beer i doubt if you would Drink any other again!
Its absolutely fabolous, and has that special taste to it!
Reminded me of the good old days in the UK when drinking the old Bitter and the likes!
Give it a try i am sure you should be able to get it there!

    Default The Mind Boggles

I have recently noticed this brew in quite a lot of the off licence's on Merseyside, Would any one honestly go to the bar and ask for a pint of this. Never tasted it and cant for the life of me think who would have put the name to a beer like this, I cant help imagining where the Bishops finger may have been

Default My favorite place in Cardff

Hi shipmates, Hi rob Page,How many years ago rob? Brains bitter has won many awards , The brains S.A. is now world famous, Years ago all the slops were put into the Dark and thats' a well known fact it stopped about 10+ years ago the brewery kept getting barrels of dark sent back to them as unfit and credit note was issued for every barrel ,so test were carried out and it was found it was not brains beer but waste , they were not happy and a few landlord were sacked extra profit for landlords? I knew many in the trade at that time, and still know a few today, what the trick was with the bitter was to add water and wood alcohol, The old Estonian club and the north star club were the main ones so I was told, if the beer became cloudy asprins to clear it up this was done to the dark in many pubs. I have been to the brewery{ brains } My MECCA a few times and had many happy hours in the sample room, {free} The beer is wonderful there!!! as its not got at by greedy landlords and others to make extra profit

    For: Louis my Amigo:

Do they still have the sign: Though in Wales was in English ?

He who drinks gets drunk; He who gets drunk falls asleep; He who goes to sleep does not sin; He who does not sin goes to heaven; So lets all drink and go to Heaven.

    Default Bent landlords years ago

Hi shipmates ,Hi Keith my barry buddy, The asprin trick as told to me by a land lord, of a well known pub use by steelworkers How to clear beer after you put waste/slops and water/wood alcohol into the barrel you take 6 Asprins crush them into powder add to barrel leave for a few hours, result good beer all the rubbish sinks to the bottom. Works on homebrew to clear it, Lemonade cost money Keith. Hi rob page That was the lighthouse? a bikers pub? the dairy in Marshfield in now a bakery .
