Neville, ain't that the truth, when my first wife died from cancer twenty years ago, I made a substantial "anonymous" donation to the local hospital who had looked after her to enable them to buy a piece of equipment they were lacking. Whether anonymous or not you still have to sign the cheque, my name must have been circulated around all and sundry with the number of phone calls and letters received shorly afterwards. Some of them were downright rude stating if I could afford to give a large sum to a hospital I must be in a position to give them a large donation. I had given all I could initially and it put me off donating for the rest of my life. I only give to "Lifeboats" now.
