I doubt whether anyone in Southampton could answer that question. Just to add to the fun,"What's on then mush? Hows the Nipper?" You've got to be a Spike Islander to appreciate that one.

    Default Apparently:

    Apparently:

Mush: Word used by folk on the end of sentances, usually in greeting or acknowledging the presence of someone.

Mush: Is an old Romany word, meaning "my good friend".

"All right, mush?" Has become old-fashioned. 'Mate' has taken its place.

OR: The act of placing one's hand on another person's face and pushing the person backwards.

OR: Townie slang for one's friend, or associate.

    "Alright, mush?"

    OTHERS:

A Person Who Brings Bad Luck:

    Don't Let Jay Pick A Horse He's A Mush.

It is also another word for a camels vagina...apparently...

    "Alright mush?"

"Hello Dave, how are ya mush?"

Southampton: Us Southampton Mushes know how to shut that Pompey lot up:

MUSH: A Yankee townie. A Boston-area/New England version of a redneck.

Can be used by mushes as a term of endearment, like "bro." Also known as a "divya," which is an expression used by mushes to mean "awesome." "Divya, mush!" means "Awesome, dude!"
Matt Damon's character in "Good Will Hunting" is a mush.

    "What's up, mush?"

"Nuthin' much, Ralphie. Just drinkin' these Millahs."

    "Divya, mush!"

Good job we've got a sense of humour. Better a Southampton scum than a Pompey skate.
At least scum rises to the top.Look where Southampton's Footy team is then look where Pompey is.

    Good morning Mr. Hawken.
Having ben born in Pompey, I've heard us described as 'Pompey bar-stewards, Pompey gits' and several other names, but 'skate' is a new one on me, is this a complimentary term? Perhaps I've been absent for too long. And as for Fratton Park, I'm not surprised considering the comings and goings of managers and financiers. Better to be a .Pompeyite, or even a Gosport Turk' rather than a Southampton Cunard Yank!!
Now go and stand in the corner for 2 fortnights and go without your tea.
Colin--ex mud-lark, (if you are as old as me, you'll know what they are)
