Re: Queen Mary
If anyone is here in the Long Beach area and needs advice/help, transport, escorting or a very cheap trip to Santa Catalina island please let me know and I will do my best to help out.
Queen Mary parking for example is extortionate...

Thanks for that Shaun
When ever I fly into L.A. airport I get the shuttle bus to the gangway of Queen Mary, for a long time it has been $17 each way. which I guess is cheaper than the parking rates.

Yes definitely! I think the current overnight charge is $18.00 self parking or $20.00 for valet.

Thank you for sharing your pictures; however I think the ship is crying out for a major overhaul.
Kind regards

Definitely! We had a midweek escape stay there Wednesday and it makes me sad to see the cover ups and bodges - like plywood with the top ply routed out to look like deck boards...not seen or noticed that before. They were varnishing the rails in places though.
Part of the $14.95 'resort fee' supposedly goes to restoration. Maybe I should put in a FOI request for how much.
