Longest time between ports
In 1951 I was flown up to Reykjavik to join the Shell tanker Lampania. Our destination was Houston. On the first day I developed a raging toothache which lasted for the best part of three weeks. It subsided the night before we arrived of course. On arrival there was a company car waiting to whisk me away to the dentist,I was painless by then but I didn't intend going through that again. It may not have been the longest voyage on record but it sure seemed like it
