Bibby lines LPG carrier Lincolnshire cannot remember the year sometime late 90's .
Guy in the centre is Ian McFarlane electrician and just in view is Captain Thomas sadly no longer with us, not sure who the young guy is think he was a deck cadet.
A hard working ship but a happy ship but a ship that was also becoming a a very dangerous ship, more cement boxes than steel.

Did she get sold to mexican interests. I can remember working on the mexican west coast running petrol and diesel cargoes from Salina Cruz up to all ports as far up to the USA/mexican border and in one port we used to see a old gas tanker discharging. It had a Spanish sounding name but I can recall seeing faint outlines of it's previous name and port of registration, which I think was Lincolnshire and p.o.r London.

No John , she went to scrap. Lloyds stepped in and threatened to remove her classification certificate. She had a an incident I believe it was while discharging NH3 Ammonia alongside in Bahrain. I understand there was an ESD tripped showside which failed to trip the ships cargo pumps and the cargo lines Hydrauliked and ruptured it also ripped out the cargo line deck supports. The main deck was wafer thin in places. She had been carrying Ammonia for many years as it was impossible to keep the Voids spaces Inerted (IG) as there were that many holes in the spaces a positive pressure could not be maintained.
The last trip I did on her was 1999/2000. We discharged Ammonia in Chittagong,shook hands on the Manifold seeing in the the Millenium. We were the only Bibby line ship that the so called millenium bug would not affect. lol.
Anyway we left and proceeded to Gas Free as we were heading for Alang to the breakers. Call came in from Bibby's to proceed to dry dock as they were going to run her for 2 more years while they had a replacement built for her. Anyway got to dry dock and basically a red line through the bulk of the repairs list. When we blacked out in the dock you could see day light shinning through the hull arond the engine room casing. This was due to the shot blasting prior to hull painting. I pointed it out to the ships super. His answer was get Bellzona on it. I got hold of the Lloyds surveyor. Not sure but there was load of steel cut out and replaced. That did me with Bibby's I walked off . They were playing with peoples lives by then.
