He might have lived there Des ? But assume you are talking about the Yorkshireman , whose Yorkshire accent was for the clients or punters, a friend of mine travelling in the buffet car from London to Liverpool ,said gone was the Yorkshire accent , and was replaced by a very refined and polished British accent. Only chumps fall for that old so called charm. Most Polly’s would have made good thespians if they had been better in the looks dept. although make up can do wonders, look at Danny La Rue .
