The world will never see the likes of us again, 'aint that the truth.

Modern ships in and out in a day, all the crew see is the dockside.
If they do get ashore, and some do here in Port Melbourne, they are often picked up by the Seamans Mission bus and taken to the Mission.
Life of a seaman now is so different we would know nothing of it.

Victoria, You mean to tell us that Grommets dog went in and licked it clean? I wear two hearing aids, all the better to switch off when my wife calls, I lost one cutting the hedge replacement cost $30, then another one after having a hair cut, which the barber found three months later behind a cupboard, to late to save me another $30.

Likewise here Des, i have two as well, from the Australia Hearing which is free, i am actually going in again in a Weeks time to get new ones ,as its been Five Years plus since my last issue, and we get free ones every five Years.
Have found them to be quite good OK not the $5000 mark ones but they do the Job. One can of course upgrade by paying extra but what the Heck, i only need to hear he Indoors, and thats enough! LOL

Left Ear is almost totally deaf without an Aid, Right Ear is also bad but can hear a wee bit just! So need the Aids .
But they are useful to the fact that when there is some noise that you dont want to hear, just switch off, and at Night Oh lovely and Quiet and peaceful.
    Cheers

The greatest thing since sliced bread, but why and what was there before?

I like Crumpet but had not had any for some time.
Got a sudden urge so went looking for some.
Beautiful, all hot and steaming covered in Vegimite, hot Crumpet beats bread any time.
