Just wondering did you ever sail on foreign flag ships with multi national crews?

I sailed with many different national crews when I was with Denholm's, in the 70s and 80s, Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Barbados, Philippines as well as GP British crews and then when I went on the rigs it was all multinational but usually the catering roustabouts and roughnecks were local to wherever in the World we were drilling. On one rig we had 25 different nationalities. Most of the rigs and ships were foreign flag, Liberian mostly with a few Cayman Island but in the later days mainly Vanuatu.

JG Were you one of the many I believe off the rigs of British Nationality who lived in Spain and commuted. Even on the offshore ships I had one Scottish engineer who used to commute as far as the Philippines .He did however do a double header on his tour of duty probably to help with the air fare . Even when I worked on the poorly paid stand by vessels by necessity, we had two American masters who lived in Hawaii who commuted but also did the same double headers. There must have been some tax incentive somewhere to do this ? Cheers JS.

Sailed with some odd ones that could be considered forieng to some.
One from Malta, then Scots, Welsh, Irish and some Scoucers, though we considered them to be British.

Who knows if sea voyages are back to the normal schedule. I think these damned restrictions have spread everywhere. I am from worldpostalcode.com/united-states/california/los-angeles, and all the restrictions seem to be still here. Please advise what is the latest situation over there? Maybe there are slight improvements after vaccination finally?
