Conditions now are very different certainly on cruise ships.
See all the waste come off all bundled up and ready to go, they have some great machinery on board now.
But if you throw something over the side and are caught that is it.
Know of one and heard of a couple where a passenger did this and was put off the ship at the next port of call.

But it is not uncommon in the southern oceans to see an occasional oil slick big enough to make one consider that maybe some tank cleaning has been done.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Hello.

We are all guilty of throwing rubbish and not thinking about the consequences. However, now we know !

We are privileged to live on this good earth for a certain time but it's not OUR good earth and it's not just for OUR time..
We can all recycle (where it's possible) Turn the lights off and the heating down; I'm a cold mortal so I am guilty of turning it UP .... and not wasting water. I try to think about people who have to carry water but I still have to catch myself when I leave the tap running whilst cleaning my teeth. So, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa to all of this but I'm making an effort .

Nothing is too small and no action is too insignificant.
We can't leave this to Politicians.
Sorry if I sound too preachy but you get my drift.
    Regards
    Brenda

But the problem is we are leaving it to the politicians and they do not have a clue.
Then the mad 'Greens' and a few other groups who all say their ideas are the best.

We are manufacturing electric vehicles when Hydrogen is the fuel of the future.

here in Oz there will be some subsidies on EV to encourage take up.

But if you do you will pay 2.5 cents per kilometer to the state gov in exchange for maybe $100 a year off registration which is about $850.
Then the feral gov will increase it to about 20 cents to make up for loss of income from tax on conventianal vehicles.

Al good stuff so we continue to do our bit

Sorry Brenda, but I was not the one who mentioned gender. No offence was intended.

Gender now is almost a thing of the past with the new WOKE lot getting their way.
We will soon all be just a number or a non identity with no such thing as male or female, no doubt will be in trouble with the WOKE police for using those terms.

Bit in the paper the other day.
Man said thank you Mr, James for that only to be told by the female behind him in the queue that you are no longer allowed to use the term Mr, or Mrs.

Is there a desert island for sale anywhere as I need to find somewhere to hide from these people, I assume that is what they are and not autonomons.

Sometimes the excuse was that the sea creatures would feed on our waste, but what fish can digest empty corned beef tins, old sea boots and the like. Considering how long it takes for some rubbish to bio degrade, looking at the pic on #1 makes me wonder if it's all come back to haunt us.
Galley boy in 66 I was a 16 year old and pollution of the seas was the least thing I worried about.

Not to mention the ridges of "empties" below all the shipping routes back then. In a bad storm while peggying after breakfast in the greasers mess she rolled a beaut and all the tableware went up against the ships side (long table athwartships) along with mop and bucket. What a mess broken glass, butter, jam, tea and anything else that was there. Fridge door opened and the contents added to the mix. All went out the port, and me down to the dry stores for replacements.
