We are told there is no evidence that you can get infected by mail / Parcels / News papers ETC... So why not put bank notes in that category its all paper, This is the nanny state at work wanting to know where you get every penny from. I cant pay my window cleaner ETC... with a debit card, I cant give my grandkids a little pocket money with a debit card, There will always be the need for cash and there are still some little corner convenience shops that don't have the online facility for card payment only. I have to say after handling cash and leaving a shopping centre i always where possible use the hand sanitizer. And it couldn't have come at a better time to scrap the old £20 notes some of them where filthy. Terry.

Hi Terry, if you don't like £20 note, I am happy to give a god home for a short period of time. Lol.

#25... Always wondered where that term filthy lucre came from Terry, now know. Agree with your sentiments if there was less crime would leave what little I have under the bed. Would also have a shot gun booby trapped to blow of the head of anyone wanting to try their hand. That’s all banks are worth. Somewhere to deposit your money safely and try not to get in their debt. Cheers JS.

But Terry is correct, things have gone to a ridiculous level.
I heard today that weddings will again be allowed in UK, but the restrictions to go with it makes one wonder, why bother just live in sin.

The fact is we are lead and ruled by those who claim to have the answers of the world when in fact they very often are the cause of them.

What about the consumation part John to seal the deal. Maybe that part is not allowed , which means one is not really married after all. Cheers JS..

When I was in Shanghai in 1977, I met up with a couple of students from Switzerland who were man and wife. I don’t recollect whether it was during the time when China was trying to stop their citizens from having more than 1 child or whether it was University rules, but they were not allowed to sleep in the same building.

Talking about fornication (were we? I've lost the thread maybe) I can recall my father telling me how the term 'bagging off' came about. It seems that when a young unmarried couple retired to the only available bed in their parents house they were tied into separate canvas bags to prevent any hanky panky. Naturally, those with a passion and handy with knots would soon have the bags off. Hence the term.

Victoria we area wealth of information, much of it of little use to land lubbers, but none the less still important.

Where else would you find such info as the one about the bags?

Bagging off in Wales was always a command to the waiter for the left over food to be bagged up
to take home. Some called it doggy-bagging. The waiter would oblige for a better tip.
