Hi JS,
Lovely to speak to you, I too have been to America a number of times, definitely fewer than you. As to the 'colour of the gangs' there was only one colour of those that worked, and that was black in Charleston, overseen by a white man. I had an experience there, my mates went to the the movies, I decided to go to a bar, only eighteen but no ID asked for, happy days. It was not for a while that I realised it was a 'black' bar, which I think took a while for them to accept me, then a white New Yorker walked in, he was an electrician working down south on a long contract, As a New Yorker he was not fazed at all, after an hour or so the regular clientele accepted we were not undercover cops and a good time was had by all, although why they thought a fresh faced Englishman would be used undercover baffles me even now.
Your comment as regards Breonna's partner I shall now address, the information concerning this tragedy is a conglomeration from CNN, The New York Times and the BBC, all available on tinternet. The police believed that Breonna's partner, Kenneth Walker, was dealing in drugs, intelligence had suggested that his car had been parked outside a known drug dealer number of times, and that was the basis for the raid. According to the NYT the police were investigating two men , who were selling drugs 'that was far from Ms. Taylor's home. But a judge signed a warrant to search Ms. Taylor's home because they believed someone had used her home to receive drug 'packages'. Three police officers broke into the flat, in Plain clothes and without body cams, they say they called out 'Police', Walker says they didi not.
What I would like to know is what do they think Breonna was doing to justify eight bullets in her body? What sort of Country allows paramilitary police to fire so many rounds for a drug investigation, a police state, that is what. Best wishes
Cheers, Paul.
