There was a video clip on FB last week taken in Siberia. It was of a river in flood and a load of plastic waste was restricting the flow of water as it was piling up against the parapet of a bridge. They had a Hiab type crane grabbing the plastics and then depositing it on the down stream side of the bridge, thereby making it someone else's problem further down stream. Disgusting really. reka_pivovarka_03.jpg.While we are no doubt doing our best to reduce plastic pollution it would appear other nations are not. Things like Plastic straws being phased out plastic shopping bags etc!! Why do you need a straw to drink a soda or a plastic carton for your pint of milk, what is wrong with a Brown paper sack for your groceries ot just non plastic shopping bag.

The river Mersey has just been discovered to be the most polluted river in the u.k. by micro plastic beads. Fish injest these and anyone eating fish caught from the river will unknowingly be injesting them too, makes you think just what is in our food from whatever source it comes from.

Common sense surely dictates that more effort should be expended on the ever escalating disastrous plastic pollution as there is on 'climate change'; not disputing the need for 'due diligence' in emissions. What's more, those activating with little direct achievement could busy themselves speaking out against unnecessary plastic and in cleaning up their own particular patch.

When we have a day at the beach for a picnic etc! apart from removing our own rubbish my wife and I make sure we remove a shopping bag full of plastic. Sadly this is so easy to do. With my grand daughter in toe we walk along the tide line having a paddle and pick up what ever we can.

All my drinking water at home is filtered, I even pour the water into the kettle when making tea.
boiling doesn't get rid of the chemicals in Tap Water.

In the 50s and 60s, in New York at Pier 90. they would open the sewers in a morning and Several million condoms, known as "the great white fleet" would pour out and sail past our Cunard ship into the Hudson River..
I wonder if the still do that.

What people will still do do avoid pollution, even if they have the money. A million $ yacht here in a Sydney tourist Company had secret pipes put in so they could pump the sewers into Sydney harbour. The were caught when a young girl died from sewer gas, they found that the rest of the fleet had been set up the same way. They will no doubt have friends in high places who will see them right.
