This is an interesting article on how to generate hydrogen in quantity that can be used to fire furnaces.

Rellies in Oz sent me this link, hence wondered:

“Here we are in the worst bushfire season we’ve ever seen, the biggest drought we’ve ever had, Sydney surrounded by smoke, and we’ve not heard a boo out of a politician addressing climate change,” climate scientist Sarah Perkins-Kilpatrick told the British publication.

“They’re burying their heads in the sand while the world is literally burning around them and that’s the scary thing. It’s only going to get worse.”

All the Greens should be out in the bush helping to stop the fires.
They always stay at home in safety whinging about smoke, when they could be useful.

To put you in the picture, 600 houses burnt. In NSW alone 500,000 hecters of bush burnt, over the last two days the weather [no winds] has allowed the the volunteer bush firefighters to have a well deserved break, and build containment lines. The winds are expected to start up again tomorrow. We now have Canadian, NZ, and American firefighters here the American mainly to help in the water bombing side of things
Only trained firefighters are allowed to fight the fires unless it is home owners saving their houses, so talk of why aren't these people helping with the fire fighting is a nonsense, having experienced a massive bush fire at close hand, with a big water bomber dropping water on the house it takes a certain type of bloke to volunteer.
A remark by one of our politicians over two people who died in the fires, {Oh well they probably voted for the Greens any way, ]went down like a lead balloon.
I don't like the Greens policy's, but to accuse them for any of the reasons for these fires is stupid.

Unless you have been close to a bush fire you have no idea what it is like.
It is not the flames that kill as much as the heat generated, particularly when the 'Petrol' trees catch fire.
These are Gum trees of a certain kind full of Eucalyptus and they explode, often sending burning embers up to five kilometers away.

The Abbos for centuries burned the undergrowth to bring new life to the bush. Many of the species here require the heat of a fire to regenerate, and when thye lit a fire it may well have covered far greater areas than this lot and burned for months until it burned out.

Bush fires here in Oz area natural way of life, the problem lies with those who want to live in it.
You cannot build a home in such areas without the risk of fires at some time.

I have seen three very bad fires here in Victoria over the years.
The 1983, Ash Wednesday ones, about 20 kilometers from where we live, that one burned on a 500 kilometer front.

Black Saturday when 179 persons lost their lives and a whole town burned to nothing.

The in 2014 the Kilmore fires, not so bad but very close to where we live and we are in a town, not the bush.

The just to be different yesterday Tassie had a big dump of snow in what we loving call the summer.

But then hey ae a bit 'different' down there.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

hi Victoria, just to clarify, Australia does not have compulsory voting, it has compulsory attendance at a polling station. there have been times when none of the candidates in my electorate have been worthy of my vote.

    Hello Capt
I am not too sure at this point but i do know that Roger does have the habit of not posting too often these days.
However i last heard from him i think was about two Weeks back,he was so busy with getting his Boat all Ship shape for the Summer Season that i think he has gone AWOL for a while.
I will also send him an Email to check,i have sent him a Card in the meantime.
I am sure if there was anything wrong his dear Wife Pauline would have let me know.
So hang in there i will see if i can find out where he is hiding ,as said most likely now somewhere on the River! LOL
