Millions of people around the world in climate strike.

People from Australia to Iceland are staying away from school and work to call for urgent measures to stop the environmental catastrophe.

Today I realized the total hypocricy of this Climate Change debate.

Yes we had a march here in Melbourne, about 8,000 in total.
Children as young as five taken out of school by teachers along with students from local University, the same faces in any march lovingly known here as Rent a Mob.

But one lecturer at Melbourne University, one of the so called world best ten, has put this to his students.
Take a phot of your self with your mates at the march so I can see you were there.
Then I will give you an additional 20 marks on your next assignment to ensure you pass it.

Wonderful, march even though you do not believe in what you are marching for, get additional points on an assignment and pass even though in reality you may well have failed it. Makes you look better than you really are.
It is actions such as this that make a mockery of the whole issue.

Then the statement that global temperatures must be lowered by 1.5 degrees to levels before the industrial revolution?????

That began in the 1700's, when temperatures were at best unreliable and not all countries kept good records.
Brain washing of our young generations so that the feel good left can have their way.

I like many others, have no problem with cleaning up the environment, remove rubbish, recycle every thing that can be but do not attempt to kid me something is occurring claiming it to be man made when the majority is cyclical weather.

As Brian said El Nino hits us here in Oz about every ten years and brings with it drought, a drought that eventually breaks with flooding rains.

Back in 1959 there was a major drought in UK, water available from stand pipes in the street, then again in 1976 another big drought hit UK.
Long before any one even thought of the climate. Nothing new here.

Millions across the globe are wrong ?

Children should be seen but not heard ?

Sorry, I think the children lead the way to look after
    an hopeful future for themselves.

Yes there may well have been millions marching across the globe on this matter, but even if 100 million marched it is a very small percentage of some 8 billion.

Did they march in China, India, Russia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chile and others??

Using children in this manner is close to child abuse and the sooner it stops the better.
Tell me how a five year old knows what this is about?

There are those who blindly believe all, and those who look outside the square for answers.

these miss lead schoolies and adults aare not told that closing Aussie coalmines actually increases polution as the users will turn to coal which is much higher in sulphur and has far more ash to contaminate land. And they think they are educated.

Climate strikes kick off worldwide - 'You'll die of old age, I'll die of climate change'

    100,000 protesters in Melbourne
    80,000 in Sydney
    30,000 in Brisbane
    20,000 in Hobart
    15,000 in Canberra
    10,000 in Adelaide

Danielle Porepilliasana, a high school student in Sydney's inner west, says climate change is the biggest threat to her generation and politicians needed to wake up.

She said: "World leaders from everywhere are telling us that students need to be at school doing work.
"I'd like to see them at their parliaments doing their jobs for once."

Churches are also getting involved - this is a Uniting Church in the centre of Sydney, with many people wearing shirts supporting action against climate change:

More than 2,100 Australian companies are closing their doors, taking long lunches or giving employees the day off to attend the climate strike, according to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald.

How did all of these climate change protesters get to their marching points, bet they didn't all walk and cycle and without a doubt will leave tonnes of rubbish for others to clear up, as they have on previous protests

Why have a go at me, I did travel much by sea.

I believe air travel to be a main offender and no longer fly.
