I have lived in my village for the past fifty years during recent years it has been invaded with incomes ,townies ,some four Lime trees have been felled in the churchyard that are situated behind a few cottages,Lime trees are one of the most beneficial to insect life attracting myriads of bees to the pollen they produce.the reason given was that the were a danger to their properties as they were rotten ,absolute rubbish!! I checked the trees condition and there was no sign of rot but they still came down .These townies had pointed out to the church authorities that they would be responsible if they came down on their properties they would sue for damages,as there was know protection order on them they could be felled, the true reason they wanted them down was because of leaves falling in their gardens also they restricted daylight to their properties, the trees that were not near them were left alone and were of the same age, funny ????.The other comment try and get a preservation order on trees it is so bloody complicated with all jargon to go through and takes ages ,the other thing I would like to mention is these I comers reckon they move in because of their love of the countryside,I leave the rest to you.Believe me this is going on everywhere as soon as anything is an inconvenience in the countryside it gets the chop or sprayed

Dave I sympathise - the role that trees, hedgerows and crops play in our climate is so important but so irrelevant to ignorant selfish people. I find all this climate protests just an excuse to cause unrest and trouble. If these protesters really wanted change then they would do without, phones, television, cars wood burning stoves and foreign holidays and any other luxuries that enriches their lives. I would not say that its all false but i would say that an awful lot is false and so very hypocritical, the sheep syndrome rules, just to be in with the in crowd is very much to the fore. I know that I am probably cast as an old codger who is not entitled to a point of view ( polite version ) but when I was young, I don't ever remember the destruction of the countryside nor the greed and selfishness that now pervades our population and in fact the world population. It is indeed a sad world.

Chris, what I pointed out to these incomes was that if it was a case of suing the people ref damage to properties whwhat all about all the trees that line our roads etc lined with houses they turned round and said that was up to them ,I replied if they all had the same attitude as you millions upon millions of trees would have to be felled.i write a regular wildlife column in our local newspaper and in my next one in a roundabout way the rural vandalism will be pointed outage that it's happening right on our doorstep ,you know the saying if the cap fits wear it.

I got a protection order on three trees behind my back garden as a developer wanted to cut them down to build houses, He left the area after my protests. they are over 100 feet in height.

Now they want to build more houses in the woodland , I am still protesting. it is full of wild animals, Deers, Foxes, hedgehogs , squirrels, and birds, They want to cut down a few hundred trees, then all the new houses will all have two cars each and hundreds of cars polluting a once pristine woodland.

Apparently, just news headline and not representing any view I may hold myself:

More than 300 scientists have endorsed a civil disobedience campaign aimed at action over climate change in a letter read out in front of London's Science Museum. In a joint declaration, climate scientists, physicists, biologists, engineers and others from at least 20 countries broke with the caution traditionally associated with academia to side with peaceful protesters courting arrest from Amsterdam to Melbourne. Ecological economist Julia Steinberger endorses the mass civil disobedience at a protest at London's Science Museum.

Methane is produced by all mammals and the decomposition of all matter.
In many parts of Europe, including parts of UK, Methane rises to the surface on boggy areas.
Through a system of natural effect it will begin to burn giving off a blur flame, often referred to as 'Wilo the whisp"

Like many countries we had the climate demonstrators out last week, ending with a almost naked march, with a total of 111 arrested.
Of them 28 will be charged with offence of obstructing or accosting an emergency services worker, the maximum sentence is 5 years. The others have been given fines of $385 with only 7 days to pay.

It has also been discovered that many, mainly Uni students, have been paid to join the march, a group by the name of 'Get Up' a left wing extreme socialistic lot paid the bill.
The cost to the Police for additional members on duty has come out at some $1.5 million, with many now calling for the organizers of the marches to foot the bill.

But a very interesting article in our Sunday paper this week. It was issued by Professor Andrew Pitman, head of the Australian Research Council's Center of Excellence for Climate Extremes.

He stated that the term 'Climate Change' is not totally correct as the climates are not changing and people are becoming unwarantedly concerned by that title.
The clmates are stable but there is considerable change in weather patterns.
The department has conceded that there is no man made events that would be the cause of the current drought taking place here in Australia.

Of course the 'Greens' who know better about this and any other matter, say this is not true and ALL coal mines must be shut down NOW.

A notice was posted late today regarding a missal signed by allegedly some 30,000 global scientists all qualified to comment on climate and weather.
According to them the only cause for the planet becoming warmer is the Sun.
Solar activity has an effect that many scientists are only begining to fully understand.
There is in may parts of the globe increases in green growth brought about by an increase of Co2 in the atmosphere all of which is converted to oxygen by the process.

Also if any of those protesters in London are on Benefits, and Job Seekers Allowance , then all their Benefits should be Stopped, they should be out looking for work.

The other day on the news it showed about 50 mothers sat on the ground in London, they are living in those tents in the street, they were Breast and bottle feeding very young babies. It was a cold day. they should have been arrested for child cruelty.

One of the protest organizers has just been on an 11,000 mile jet trip holiday.
Protestors in London setup portable kitchens to feed protestors.
Kitchens were powered by portable diesel generators. Nuff said.
