I have lived in my village for the past fifty years during recent years it has been invaded with incomes ,townies ,some four Lime trees have been felled in the churchyard that are situated behind a few cottages,Lime trees are one of the most beneficial to insect life attracting myriads of bees to the pollen they produce.the reason given was that the were a danger to their properties as they were rotten ,absolute rubbish!! I checked the trees condition and there was no sign of rot but they still came down .These townies had pointed out to the church authorities that they would be responsible if they came down on their properties they would sue for damages,as there was know protection order on them they could be felled, the true reason they wanted them down was because of leaves falling in their gardens also they restricted daylight to their properties, the trees that were not near them were left alone and were of the same age, funny ????.The other comment try and get a preservation order on trees it is so bloody complicated with all jargon to go through and takes ages ,the other thing I would like to mention is these I comers reckon they move in because of their love of the countryside,I leave the rest to you.Believe me this is going on everywhere as soon as anything is an inconvenience in the countryside it gets the chop or sprayed
