    Will follow orders, no worries.

    Just concerned, that it seems
    experts are ignored and possibly
any danger is touch wood fake.

Will hang on and wait and see.

For a hundred or more years after Columbus found out that the world was round the majority opinion was that it was flat. It took massive amounts of gold and silver brought back from the Americas to filter down to the man-on-the-street and to enrich the church for opinions to be altered. With today's instant communications, visual in the form of photos, and in word and reading, opinions are changing rapidly
I would be more interested on this thread if instead of the repeated comments such as "a group of scientists said", "a friend of mine heard on the radio that, "the weather in my …. is just the same as it was years ago", how about telling us the scientific body involved and/or the scientists involved, or a link like this one aiding your position. Give facts, figures, statistics and from where or by whom not just generalities based on speculation. Please give back-up to support your claims, Do a little "cut and paste" to support your claims as Keith has been doing, otherwise it's just more singing to the choir.

Rodney, A canary in the mine.
Rodders, you comments are valid but only to a point.
The info out there is often mixed and not consistent in content.
Most of what is in the media is subject to media spin.
Example, as previously stated good ,mate worked at the Met office for 40 years.
Daily they would supply the media with the weather report for the next 24 hours.
Every day he would pull his hair out when he saw what the media did with it, the radio and TV stations put their interpretation on it, result, the public complain that they can never get the weather forecast right.

But go back through history and look at the various scares there have been.
In the late 60's we were told the 70's would bring an ice age, what did we get, some of the hottest summers on record.
In the 80's the CFC scare and the Ozone hole, which scientists now say opens and closes on a regular basis.
    Then the K2000 scare.

It is little wonder that some of the older members area little skeptical when they see and hear some of the rhetoric coming from the scientific groups.
A UK lady scientist was interviewed on our local TV.
She works only from home dealing with information sent to her which she then feeds into her computer.

It is easy to cut and paste but that is only repeating what has been said in the media.
There are some who will always question what the scientists say, I am one basing my comments on the words of some at the coal face with regards to compass changes, effects on aircraft movements brought about by weather and other events, and my mate from the weather office.

They may not be right, but they offer another facet to the argument.

Today the energy council announced here in Oz the companies that are doing their bit to reduce their carbon footprint. Large companies such as Rio Tinto, BHP, the major banks and other large corporations. The efforts they are going to are to be congratulated for as they are leading the way.
Only an hour later the federal opposition leader came on TV in a speech to say the nation is doing nothing to address the problem.

So politics once again rears the ugly head of mistrust.

Then there is the aspect of hypocrocy, so many countries, Norway a classic example.
Want all conventional vehicles off the road by 2035 replaced by electric, but they are currently the forth largest exporter of oil and gas.
Information gained in June whilst visiting the country.

Rodders, maybe you did not see my 'tongue in cheek' bit on the subject but that is how many now see it all.

No way am I disrespecting you navigators for the work and the information you submitted and the experiences you went through.

This is not based on a cut and paste Job, but an opinion based on pure common sense. The information you submitted was used to inform the world what was happening and likely to happen in the future in the part of the world you were reporting from, and collectively give a picture of what was happening all over the oceans of the world and the effect these patterns would have on the land mass, and as a prediction on what to expect in the future.

Today this important information can be used as a comparison to current events and the results good and bad can be used with todays technology to project weather events.

My guess is that current master navigators are still in-putting weather conditions and that, plus satellite coverage and who knows what technology.... way beyond this simple galley-boy's knowledge, give out today a huge amount of data, that trouble looms,

That is an opinion of mine written in haste, just back from the hospital and no time to edit.

I still see no information to back-your theories that all is well for the future of your grand kids etc.. just like this post, you are only offering historical personal observations, or what the world looks like out your kitchen window.

I have an open mind, but all I see are photos, news reports, etc. that trouble looms. Please show me scientific proof or information from a reputable source that world climate conditions are stable, and that climate change is a farce. I will check-out the source, not opinions, of the claims, as I do on what I read regarding climate change. I take nothing for granted. I repeat, send me information from reputable sources that climate change is a hoax.

    Awaiting a slue of responses.

    Rodney

Rodders, as I see it the main problem is the media.
We as simple citizens are reliant on them informing us of what is occurring, but it is their version, their spin that we hear.
Pictures are shown of ice melting etc, but how do we know if they are current or very old footage.

Whilst in Norway I spoke with a number of locals about the amount of snow and ice still around in late June.
They explained that this is normal and will be gone by the end of August with the next snows beginning in October, they see no difference in conditions.
I can only compare that with what the media tells me.

While on board we saw on Sky News how UN aircraft had observed some 40 new coal fired power stations in the north of China, with about another 40 under construction.
China has a vast array of solar but the country is so vast with low sun levels in the north that the coal is still required.

Here in Oz we have been informed by the gov that we are meeting our Paris agreement emission levels.
But that does not include the coal we sell to China, but if we close off the deal they will buy from other countries where the Sulphur content is far higher than here.

So by that standard, like Norway, we are hypocrits.

The reports put out by so many media outlets is often contradictory to the other, who do we believe?
Even some scientists do not agree with the man made concept!

Here in Oz so many natural events such as droughts and floods occur there are many who doubt what is being said about the climate.
My guess is that it will take some far reaching events to occur before many will understand and change their concept of what is going on.

As stated previously something is happening to the climate, but it is not all down to man.
Rodney, when you get the BBC science editor spinning posing in front of a glacier which is calfing due to the pressure of ice at the rear of the glacier stating this ice break up is due to climate change.
When the met office states"we can predict the weather for the next fifty years and the can't get it right for the next day".
Little reported report from UK National UK Oceanography Centre. Cold waters n the Atlantic causes heatwaves in Europe, and that these factor have not been included in climate change models.
Scientists from the same institute, have discovered that Polar Winds are increasing sea temperatures.
As I said before not all factors are used in the computer modeling of climate change.

A few years ago the chief scientist here retired, chap by he name of James Lovelock.
He wrote a very long article in the weekend paper not long after that.
    It made very interesting reading.

Here was the leading scientist who had predicted all manner of disasters as a result of man made global warming.

But on an ABC interview he made the following admission.

He was the man that decreed, in 2000, that man would, by 2006, as a result of global warming be wiped out with only a few breeding pairs left to migrate to the Artic and hopefully begin to breed the next generation.

But he openly admitted that he had overexaggerated the pudding. His claim was made as a result of computerized results based on the information he had entered.
Despite saying otherwise he now claims the global temperature has not climbed as much as many claim.

But he did go on to say that the information as it was then and given to the PM was what the PM wanted. Had it not been so he know understands that funding for his department would have been severely restricted.

This scientist has openly admitted he lied to the public over this issue.
Was he one on his own, or are there others??

    Hi Vic.
Our PM who has just returned from eating with Trump has discovered that we have had a severe drought for the past three years, he held up a lump of soil on a farm and said look at that not a drop of moisture DU,

In the weekend paper an article by a lady who was PA to one of our many PM, before, during and after his tenure.
She wrote a very interesting article which you can find by Google Herald Sun/Peta Credlin.

She claims the current climate crisis as claimed by many is nothing more than a move to a 21st style socialism.

Having failed to convince the people to change their form of governance to a social model the cunning ideological warriors of the Left are now intent on doing it by stealth.

The article goes on to show how they will attempt if by subterfuge inn an effort to bring global comminality in all we do.
It works on the principal we are all to buy to take note of what they are doing.

In a way it is part of what the EU is attempting to do, have us all singing off the same song sheet with no cultural differences.

It may to many sound a little extreme but for those who are prepared to think outside the square there is more than a modicum of truth in the article.

The more the people begin to question the facts the more chance they will see the real reason for much of what is occurring.
