The Swan curry used to be one of the highlights along with Alsatian bajhis . In the middle 1960s it was the best of all the Bangladeshi restaurants in the area and then the bits you could see was scrupulously clean but in that time I expect the original owner has died several times
yes rob your right the original owner died several times they said it was his vindaloo .....but with the modern medicine today the brought him back to life .......but believe it or not back he went on the vindaloo......ah laygate lane ...street of a thousand delights sadly most of it gone now with new housing
###was up in shields yesterday tony it was a lot cooler with a autumn feel about it ...the ist curry house in shields to my mind was the star of india on ocean road....never go to laygate now .....if you go dont say you know rob ....they are still looking for him in laygate ..from the early sixties.......regards cappy
