Someone in France promised to send me Wine, bread and cheese every week, but they never did, but did receive a box of haggis from a mysterious benefactor in Scotland as long as I wore a kilt (they haven't seen my stick legs) which I did because I received a box of incontinent Y fronts from somewhere near Harrogate but postmarked South Shields which kept me warm, also a box of mackerel from Fleetwood, no money, but with a promise of a genuine coconut when they got back from Hawaii, some fellow from Somerset said he would proof read my scrap log and another fella from Oz said he was happy but never sent me a bottle of what he was drinking. A few undesirables tried to get up the gangway but frightened them off by telling them it was a happy ship and no dissention allowed

which reminds me of a saloon steward whose remedy for haughty characters making i nuisance of themselves would wait until the whites were worn .....then put a faint circle of gravy salt on the chair of the complainer ....in a central position which corresponded with the center of his shorts ...as he sweated whilew pigging out the gravy salt would form a ring on his whites which looked quite ominous as he walked away ...followed by the fruity voice of the steward commenting well he didnt sing but is now showing his ring which got roars of approval from the pantry staff cappy

Was just asking the other day.
    What happened to Mike Newell?
Used to correspond on a regular basis.
Must send him an email. Unless someone can tell me if he is still around.

We need a chief steward and a cook, on the last voyage all we had was a cuckoo and some one called the cook a clown, but the fact was the clown was no cook.

Must have more home brewed beer this time, the Newcastle Brown from last time was off, Cappy had been using it to grease Mary's leg then putting it back in the bottle.

Looked in the store room, there is some bread and cheese there, the mice did not like it but maybe Den can use some in his tab nabs, give them some substance.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I think Gulliver hinted on me being the C/S could be Chief Steward or Chief Stirrer LOL
always hints at things on way at times are hard to detect the real meaning!
But I will be the C/S Whatever and Purser as well,so no Subs to you Gulliver you will have to stay dry until your trip is up! LOL
