21st birthday, Aug. 4, 1961
Joined the MV Kirkham Abbey, one of the AHL butter boats which plied between Goole and Copenhagen. Made up for it in wonderful, wonderful Kobenhavn three days later though. Got pissed to the gills and was carried back to the ship by one of the motormen. I puked all down his suit and had to pay for it to be dry-cleaned.

I was on the Medic in Schiedam. Spent the birthday in the Cafe Courzand chatting up a Dutch female. Can't remember if I got lucky.
