Yes, in Yankee land. Had 3 in 24 hours in the Puget Sound loading on the Pacific Reliance.

    Hi Den.
Just reviewing this post, "I got it wrong Dad" I said I was on the British Piper, but on reviewing my discharge book I was on the RFA Wave Baron somewhere off the Korean peninsula. But can't remember any birthday.
    Cheers Des

Remember had a case of beer off the 2nd Steward. Tuborg's if my memory correct. Normal allowance was 2/3 cans a day, so he was a decent bloke. I had spent the afternoon swimming and sunbathing ashore in the fenced off area under Captain Morgan's fort. Got a good case of sunstroke and spent the night spewing my heart up why my cobbers drank the booze.
Does anyone remember that fenced off swimming section? Had a hole in it big enough to drive a sub., thu it. Still, another experience on the road of life. Lads I'm going to start a post on a virtual ship. so form an orderly queue. All dept., are welcome. Mike
    Remember that swimming hole well.
As you say. The hole in the net [to keep out sharks] was big enough to let two great whites swim in abreast.

I remember the fence with all the holes, it wasn't the sharks I was watching for it was the spiny sea urchins, always kept my plimsoll's on swimming in the sea.
