Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
Does this bring back any memories for anyone!
I recall this night it was a Queens party night and all were invited, and you would be surprised just how many attended!
The Queens were always of good behaviour on the Castle Liners,as as long as you treated them correctly, they would not bother you!
Good bunch and hard workers in the main! There may have been the odd one out that tried to take advantage but was soon put in his/her place! LOL:)
Some good times with them and got some really good entertainment.
Cheers
For the life of me I cannot remember a single name ! Oh well that's old age! haha!

Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
As Terry said some of the hrdest workers you will vere meet. I do recal on the Windsor some of the first class wingers wearing wigs of all different colors and the bloods loved it. they would compare perfumes and a manner of other cosmetic items. Chuckles Chranley cheif officer had a gay winger on his table and dispared of any service when the bloods got started on such things.
as for the photo Vernon it was entitled 'Sods opera'.

Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
Thanks for that John
Now I am really confused,as this Pic was sent to me a very long time ago and I have kept it ever since!
I looked that name up and Bingo! its there but it has a date of 1962 and at that time I was not with UCL any longer!??
I remember a party and thought that was it,must have been something very similar!
No wonder I cant remember any of the names!
Anyway its some nostalgia for all!
Cheers

#25....... and I'll bet the African Queen (2nd left back row) would have gone down a storm in Delmonicos Terry.
Gilly
Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
Don't think she would have got in there at the Del those days John ,but would have made a sight if she had ! LOL!
cHEERS;)
Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
Now now Terry
How can you be so nasty towards my Sister! LOL:xrofl:
Cheers
Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
She could have got into Delmonicos as a winger!
Tourist gallop on the Edi, no much different from all the other UCL ships. Bloody great aircraft carrier in the middle and work your ring off. 'Queuing on the fish' would go the cry and a winger with a dozen splates piled high making his way through the revolving doors. Tow sittings in two hours then turn to and do it again with the odd scrub out, laundry carry, beer run etc in between. Would do it all again in the morning.
Re: The wit of shipboard Queens
#29- just as well you 'worked your ring off ' John, running two sittings- no need to sleep with your back to the bulkhead on ucl after that.
