Then there was that other favourite beloved by medicine chest administrators "Whitfields Ointment" a cooling balm for those who suffered from dhobi rash in the nether regions, very cooling when adminstered but burnt like hell after about 30 seconds and no amount of washing would get rid of the stinging sensation. Many learnt many new dance steps after its application. Would see someone walking along the deck after visiting the dispensary and then all of a sudden jump in the air catching his wedding bells when the stuff started working......eeh happy days

Ivan I found that methalated spirits was good for that to and still today use it. Must say that if needed it does make you stand to attention when applied but it sure as hell fixes it up.
That's the way the mop flops.

Recall those times in just after the war when women would insist on the head of the rabbit being left on because a few cats where substituted for rabbit. Know that Mum purchased one without a head on it and it ended up getting thrown out because the meat was a slightly different colour but often wondered how many had cat pie or jugged moggie in those days.

Hi Les rabbit meat is a bit different than cat meat .the lives of cats in Changi Jail was very short .We even now have pot roast rabbit .My son who does a lot trapping in Otago central brings us a couple of rabbits now and again .Years ago you could buy rabbits from the butchers shops then they stopped the sale of them .But believe me when your hungry cat meat tastes just as good
