Same on a british tanker ...the cook cleavered the second cook into one big lump of mince ....blood all over and lumps of meat ....humour in everything the cook then went to his cabin and locked the door .....the mate could not get in as the cook blocked the door key .....the mate then turned to the bosun and said i will kick in the lower door panel bosun and you will climb in and subdue him ....by this stage many hands were round the door ..the bosun said feck that ....i willl kick the panel in and you go through..quite a few guys took a step backwards cappy included......but the cook opened the door and was arrrested no prob .....put ashore in mina al ahmadi ....the second cook was a constant source of trouble causing discord time and time again .....not needed on a tanker or any other vessel.... or any MN site R683532
# Gee mate, where you put him I am surprized he did not end up in a stir fry.

One ship-board murder that I heard of when at sea was when I was told told by an old Irish AB that when he was sailing through the Suez Canal (in the 1950s or early 60s?) a fellow rating, lying in wait for an Arab thief to furtively enter his cabin, killed him with one blow from a baseball bat before dumping his body at night over the side. The other murder I have indirect experience of was when I was a DHU on the Penelope Everard in the early summer of 1969. I was ordered to carry a holdall of the possessions of a murdered seaman (I am not sure if he was an ex-crewman of the Peneope Everard) to the office of the h.arbour master in Cork.

My Comment was on Captain Kong's story
There were so I am told many attempted murders of the ships cook on some ships.
