    Default Devis.......

    Good Morning/Bonjour Ray!
Someone on the 'Ships Nostalgia' site thinks Devis was MQFT-----so does that sound familiar to you?
(You'll have to join to see this link below)-but here's a copy of that post by 'Sparkyjack'.

'If i remember rightly mv Devis MQFT & Caledonia Star MARJ sailed on both in 60's cheers - sparkyjack'

Oh, how I remember those lazy days aboard my last ship. As though it was yesterday. It really was lazy days ashore too, for sparks at least. A day or two at sea then up to a week loading cargo on the Brazilian coast at several ports. Then across to London, where I left the ship for the last time at a lock. It sounds sad now but perhaps not too sad, I left her to get married! An easy going ship and Master especially when we had passengers aboard, he then cracked open the wine locker for dinner. No passengers equals No wine. LOL. As RO I had the very basic setup, CW only, no radar. Not much traffic either, mainly ships bussiness with the odd SLT. What a change we have all witnessed within only a part lifetime. Number one 60 years ago and now??

I shall continue to dream of days gone by. But I had better stop at least for now, cos my Gin is being diluted by my tears. Cheers Ray
