Captain Stanley Algar and Shell tankers
Most of my father's career was with Shell Tankers. I have just finished writing a book about his life, in peace and war, GOODBYE OLD CHAP. See special news and events. He was captured when master of the Agnita, in 1941, and spent four long years in a POW camp, Milag Nord. Of course, all this happened many years ago, but I would be very pleased to hear from anyone who has had relatives who might have known my father, either on any Shell tankers, or from the POW days. Some of his last commands included the Caprinus,Velletia and Vellutina, giants in their day.
