You were fairly lucky Charlie, scroll forward a few more years and the three of same class (Velutina, Velletia and Verena) were all nightmares. They were all three boiler jobs and DC electrics.
I visited a friend of mine while Velutina was in drydock at Brighams in South Shields in 68. She had taken 10 days to sail from Norway due to repeated breakdowns.
She was in dock for about 2 weeks, during which time the boilers were re- tubed.
Got as far as the piers on way out and --- was towed back in. There were other nightmare stories around the fleet about the others also

Tony I don't recall any happenings out of the ordinary when I was on her. only did the one trip 6 weeks. Don't recall the date signed on & off my second discharge book was left on the Imperial Star.
