Doric
Hello Doric,I'm a new chum to this sight.I remember the Gothic very well,a fine vessel I did two trips Aug 58 to April 59.as public room steward. I well rember seeing the Dominion Maniac on her final voyage at the time I was on the MV Huntindon moored on the same pier in New Plymouth. The red pennant and a mounful fog horn salute as she sailed stays in my mind to this day.

Terrence
I was the Skipper's Tiger (Captain's Steward) on the Gothic January 1951 to March 1953. (+ Aborted Royal tour in February 1952 when the King died) We would have made the trips to NZ including Fiji together.
All the best

Hi Maurice, i was electrical engineer, on Southern Cross,Delphic,Doric,Canopic. I was later than you, from 1955 to 1962, went aboard the DM quite often when our paths met. The Chief elecrical engineer on DM was John Dove, think he had been with the ship for years !

Hi Terrence,
Looks like we were just ahead of you, was on the "Port Adelaide" called into Suva and then were in Auckland when you arrived, took some photo's of you coming into Auckland, was also in the crowd when the Queen saw the premier of "The Million Pound Note" with Gregory Peck, a long way to go to see the Queen for the first time.
