    Default Southern Cross

revolutionary at the time of her launch and the blue print of most if not all passenger ships and cruise liners of to day - her successor not quite so lucky - i often wondered what she would look like with a different funnel and bridge placement - and come up with this half hearted attempt - apologies to all !

Very popular here in Oz and lived a varied life.
But was something of a new inovation in passenger liners with her design.
Northern Star followed, but in the end Alang got them both, Sad really

    Hi Bryan
My dream ship, I met my lovely wife on the Southern Cross; on her second voyage, we were both emigrating to NZ in 57, a lovely ship, though it was the first time I was ever in a cabin for four, but what the Hell! I only paid 10pounds for my passage.

Did the Southern Cross have a service life span of over 50 years admittedly with several name changes and owners. Her sister ship Northern Star was scrapped after only 15 years ?
