Michael Boik RIP
Micky, catering , would have been there in the 1960's, passed away last week. He spoke well of his time there. He had a successful career once he came ashore and was an accomplished competition glider pilot and instructor.

Good . Memories rekindled. I was there in 1958. Like many it was my first time away from home also the first time on a train journey..steam of course...it was an experience and an introduction to life, " As She Should Be Lived ! " Thank you gentlemen....at this stage of life [66 years later ], I can laugh about it and oddly enough ? still miss it.

On that I think we all agree.
It took boys and turned them into men, well most of them that is, and set us up for life.
Still miss the sea so take as many cruises as we can, not quite the same but gives you the feel for it.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: TS Vindicatrix
#57 worked in shipping for nigh on 5O years John ,was my bread and butter. After 27 years in British vessels of various descriptions the butter was getting rancid and had to turn to margarine , had to come to other parts of the old British Empire to get back on the Lurpack.
Found margarine did not suit my taste buds. Cheers JS.

Reminds me of a visit to a Northumbrian Water sludge carrier on the Tees, I was discussing what they carried and I was told by the mate, it might be **** to you, but its my bread and butter.
