[QUOTE=Dave Spencer;35412]PWSTS January to May 1963 (Arethusa Class)

    Regards Dave[/QUOTE

    G'day Dave
I was there with you (Cutty Sark 63). If memories serve me right you were on a Star Boat (I think) in Auckland that memorable port, and I was on the Cumberland. I think you stood on the top of the after Sampson Post and waved us all goodbye as you sailed away.
    Regards
    Peter (Ringo)

I was there October 64 - February 65, the class was called Grenville.
My principal memory of PWSTS is of always being hungry! We got 7/6d per week 'pay' which was soon spent when we were allowed out for a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday, always in full dress uniform.
My parents sent be 10 bob each week to buy a bag of chips and some goodies to hide under my bunk.
Travelled to Liverpool to join my first ship in West Canada dock, the Port Napier. We sailed for New Zealand, what an experience for a scrag end of a boy from Birmingham!

I was there February to June 1957 Leander class. Joined Oronsay, Orient
line two trips as deck boy was then offered and accepted an apprenticeship
with Common Brothers Lowland Tanker Co.

    Hi Kenneth.
If you click on Forums and go to the very bottom { which maybe you have] you will find that there are 50 members on site and all together 16,076 users
there are at some times over 60,000 viewing the site so you never know if some one you sailed with or where at PWSTS may see your post.
