hello bill yes i went to odyssey in the sixties we were worked hard and very thorough but most enjoyable i was in contact with pat Kennedy wondering what happened to the full working model for the deck dept to train on. i still itch when the thought of the blue serge pants and jumper. still got my homework books some were,john

From memory the school started in 58 and the Bosun instructor was Dennis O'Brian.

You young men had an advantage over the likes of me as you all seemed to walk aboard on your first trip around the land knowing where everything was. Ten ton gear ....No. 5 locker etc,. O'Brian certainly trained you all well. I believe he received some War time commendation.
As for the Beret with the AH flag and the Serge outfit with Blue Funnel Line across the chest you all must have looked well heading for the Guinea Gap Baths in Seacombe.

The ship model you refer to was really excellent and I would wager it is lying in someones garage at this moment. What a shame. It should be on display for all to see.

I understand the school closed in 72, containers etc.,.
