Can’t remember the ditty or song as of yet. JS
I think it was a Johnny Horton song "we gotta sink the Bismark"? great marching song.

Wasn't the Nelson and the Rodney sunk by Jap aircraft when Churchill sent them to Singapore without air cover?

Re: Photos of HMS Hood
Yes believe so Des. However the ditty about the 3 ships was a made up one used probably by seafarers and think the song that Johnny says about sinking the Bismarck was something on the same lines but the ditty mentions 3 British Battle wagons or capital ships.? JS
Something like “ I saw 3 ships come sailing by on Xmas day in the morning , The Nelson ,The Hood , and The Rodney “, etc. etc. etc. JS

Re: Photos of HMS Hood
The RN ships were the HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse December 10 1941. I was reading about the Chinese yet again grave robbing of the Malayasian coast on these two ships.
It has now been detained by the Malay authourities.
