Re: Carrier Prince of Wales
Our gov yesterday unveiled the new defense project.
They claim it is all to do with them, fact is it was drawn up by the Defense department back room boys.
It will mainly consist of Subs with the Army taking charge of all new missiles.
But wait, don't those missiles come from a sub?
Yes but ours will be on nuclear powered subs but missiles with no nuclear war head.
So we could have stayed with the old bow and arrow style sub then/
Correct.
Yes but we are now going to have new style of armed forces, the army will no longer be called out to fight bush fires.
Yes can see that, be too busy cleaning brass no doubt.

Re: Carrier Prince of Wales
A pipe dream, but the only answer is when all the young people world wide refuse to go to war there will be no more wars
The media and fake news has a lot to answer for stoking the fires given the slightest sniff of a conflict.

Re: Carrier Prince of Wales
Our gov has now gone completely mad.
claim we will manufacture our own missiles now, some hope.
You need an armaments management base to do so, we do not have one.
But you can get them from China, no worries mate.

You'll certainly get them from the French, they will sell to anybody, even to nations attacking a fellow NATO member, don't worry about the submarine debacle, they won't hold that against you.

Re: Carrier Prince of Wales
Anyone remember the TV programme auf Wiedersehen pet?
One of the funnest scenes in that was when Kevin was kicking a football and his mate was using a digger.
He stopped the digger just in time as they had unearthed an Un exploded bomb.
The German boss was looking at the Bomb and Kevin pipes up That's a British bomb that!!!
the german says , yes off course it is ---------
It did not go off.
