HMS Avonvale
My uncle was an able seaman on the Avonvale in WW2.
The ship was bombed in the Med while escorting.
My uncle suffered from what is now known as PTSD.
I remember him lying in bed for a long time, not talking, just blinking.
Eventually he recovered and during his recovery he wrote some poems.
This is his poem about his ship which I hope you find interesting.
