This is a short video of her, the bow section shows large tingles applied, probably in the attempt at salvage, kt

After the MN I worked for Mod supply companies as sea trials engineer. One was testing mine sweeping gear and joined HMS Bronington in Ardrossan in January 1988, the weather was foul for two days preventing the ship to enter harbour, my memory of that time was all hands being ordered on the quayside to push with their backs whilst extra fenders were inserted to protect the wooden hull. We eventually got going and were out for days in atrocious weather. My berth was on the Wardroom sofa below a glass case containing a service revolver. On the sweep deck we were monitoring the depth of the wire with transducers attached every fathom or so fed back to instrumentation to determine the swept depth. Foul weather most of the time and freezing cold on deck it was January. The galley was shut down for a while due to the roll.
Sorry to see the ship in such a state.

Although she looks a hopeless case for restoration, if enough money can be raised, it could be done. I was involved for a short while trying to refloat the Medway Queen, and we would get her afloat for a while, and then she would sink again. I remember thinking this was a waste of time, this thing will never float again, how wrong was i, she is now in lovely condition, kt
Apology for another Video, but this is her in better days for those that have memories of her
