    Default HMS Prince Philip

Britannia to rule the waves once more, with new royal yacht named after Prince Philip.

It would be nice to see Prince Philip honoured . I am not a Royalist but I honestly believe that to spend 100 million + on a jolly boat is wrong
Why do the RN not name a class of ship after him Frigates or Destroyers ? HMS Prince Philip or HMS Duke of Edinburgh.

The mention of Cammell Laird as a possible builder should set alarm bells ringing especially after the cost over runs and delays while building the Sir David Attenborough.
Sorry but copy & Paste https://www.thesun.co.uk/uncategoriz...hnical-faults/

Sadly I do not think the UK can build a ship of quality and design or to budget and on time.

Downing Street has not denied the reports, with a spokesperson saying: "The prime minister has an exciting vision for shipbuilding in this country and is committed to making the UK a shipbuilding superpower.

Possibly, cost may be lower if wall paper is omitted.

Must admit I would love to see the UK especially H&W building ships again but sadly I think that ship has long sailed. Ship construction in the UK will be Naval ships. It will only ever be a vision. I would love to see me having to eat my words though.

They have won a contract to fabricate Jacket foundations for a wind farm project.
I read about the apprentice openings and that is great news. I was reading about developing ties with the USA in Miami. I think H&W are getting good reviews within the cruise industry for cruise ship repair and refurbishment.
It certainly would be great to see the return of ship repair and ship building.
