Y boats and others
A photo of the Picardy has just come up on Ebay and it has reminded me just how good some of the Royal Mail ships of that era look. I was lucky enough to be in Albany, Thessaly, Loch Loyal and Essequibo among others, all of which still look the bogs dollox today, over 50 years after they were built.

On the Pampas one trip we ran out of water, so we rigged hoses over the derricks and had cold salt water showers all the way to London.

Yes the "Pizzaro" was PSNC and had good accommodation for all and was nothing like the Royal Mail Y ships, I refuse to call them Boats. I served on ships.
