Default 1959 Drill Trophy Cup Winners

Just a remembrance of mine, when in the RAF , after our Eight Week Square bashing, with a very hard Drill Coporal (Nimmock) of D Platoon, we Won the 1959 Drill Trophy and so very proud we were!

Somewhere i have another Picture of our actual Drill on Parade, but at present cannot find it! Will look and hopefully post it later if found!

This is our Group Photo, i marked myself , and one of my best Friends at the time as well Dave!

Cheers Oh what good days and times we all had!

Started out at Bridgnorth Basic Training ( This after going initially to Cardington to get Kitted out and then sent to Bridgnorth) , then on to Compton Basset for Wireless Operators Course, then on the Innsworth awaiting Shipment to Aden during the Small Wars.
Received very high pass in my Wireless Operators Course, and of couse wore the Badge after. Also got the Marksman Crossed Rifles Badge for being an Eagle Eye on the Shooting Range! Proud days!

Wireless Operators Badge RAF.JPG Will look for my Cross Rifle and take a Pic as well.
    Cheers

Found my original RAF Jersey well kept in case and wrapping, see that Cross Rifles etc. And my old Shoe brush found by my dear Friend after some 50 Years !! WOW!!
    Cheers

    Hi Vernon.
Well done that man, yes it is great to look back at a good achievement in ones life, all the more pity we can't go back, only in our dreams.

We have just got back from Bridgnorth Doc, had a good 4 days in a pub there, sure is some lovely countryside there. In another post i was moaning about a cost of a pint here on the Island at £4.20 to £4.40 a pint, in the pub in Bridgnorth £3.60, so a happy bunny for a few days.
