    Default Operation Manna.

Seventy-six years ago today, a group of young pilots and their crews began a series of daring raids which saved a starving nation. Today marks the 76th anniversary of Operation Manna.

On 29 April 1945, the RAF launched Operation Manna to deliver food and supplies to the starving Dutch people. This became one of the first humanitarian aid missions undertaken by the Royal Air Force in the last days of the Second World War.
