    First ten seconds rubbish.
    The Harrier saw action in Vietnam with the American Marines.
    The story was that a Marine General was impressed and wanted six of them. He appeared in front of a committee defending his actions, questioned why buy British and not American. His response only one country makes them, the UK. He got his Harriers, the yanks were impressed and a deal was done that allowed the Yanks to develop and build the second generation, hence the reason why we are buying F35's.
