Thanks very much Jim, i really am keen to know the condition of them after all these years, am sure they can be restored, or maybe most of them, amazing what is hidden in the ground, must be quite a story in itself how they were found. and tracked down. please keep any new info , best wishes, Tony W.
There was an article on TV last night here in Oz about them. The area is too wet just now for anyone to go in and bring them out. Work is anticipated to begin in late January. The plan is to erturn them to the RAF in UK as they are still egistered as the rightful owners.
BURMA OR MYANMAR.
Tonight an advert on the TV for a childrens charity was for the children of Burma,so is it Burma or Myanmar.Apparently the UN refer to the country as Myanmar defaulting to the nomenclature wishes of the country's rulers, but the United States and the United Kingdom do not recognize the junta and thus still call the country Burma.I suppose the media still use the name Burma as it is more easily recognised same as Rangoon as opposed to Yangon.

Only beaten by Calcutta Glenn, the 5 a.m. body cart still going around the street every morning even in the 80/90's, collecting all those who had passed on during the night. What's the connection with Spitfires, well my Indian agent had been a spitfire mechanic during the war.
