    Default SS Aureole

Now, this came as a surprise.. Eustace Charlie Watson b1899 Southwold. I knew when his fisherman father died, his mother remarried and went to live in Brightlingsea. Eustace attended school there while his stepfather ran his shop. This information was taken from the 1911 census. By 1921 he was back at Southwold with all the family and he sailed off to Los Angeles at the end of 1922. I looked at the Kelly's census, and it listed someone else at the property in 1914. This got me curious..Did they all go back to Southwold? Well, no, not entirely sure. It was believed that Eustace had nothing to do with the sea, but ! I have just stumbled on a Eustace Watson b1899 Southwold, being on his first trip a 'Mess Steward' on the 'SS Aureole' out of Harwich 1915. His elder brother William Duncan Watson live in Harwich at the time, so i'm absolutely certain I have the right Eustace.

Now, on to the question, Does anyone have any information on the SS Aureole? What i'd like to know is, where did it sail to? Did Eustace serve on another ship after?

Sorry it was a bit longwinded

Thanks for reading, and any help is appreciated

    David
