John Lee - born Cape Breton
Hello. I am trying to trace the voyages of my gg grandfather John Lee, who was born in Cape Breton. I have found him on BT116/55 [copies attached] and would appreciate help in deciphering the entries. My interpretation is as follows:
Arrived at Yarmouth on the Thetis on 6 Jan 1854 having sailed from St Johns on 22 Sep 1853
Sailed from Dublin on the Agenoria on 18 Jan 1854
Arrived at Liverpool on the Berkshire on 17 Jun 1854 having sailed from Sydney on 7 Sep 1853
The entries for the Thetis and the Berkshire seem to conflict and I am wondering if I am missing anything. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Re: John Lee - born Cape Breton
Hello again. Thank you all for your comments. I am attaching the whole page for BT116/55 in the hope that it is easier to read. I am also attaching BT113/157, which provides his ticket number, and place and year of birth. The ticket number recorded is 312877 but BT114/13 records it as 312871. BT113/157 shows that John was born at Harryshott, Cape Breton in 1801. I believe Harryshott is actually Arichat on Cape Breton Island.
I have John's Royal Navy records. He seems to have reverted to the Merchant service at some stage. BT116/55 is my last sighting of him. A story in the family is that he deserted from the Royal Navy because he objected to flogging, and departed to Australia or America, and was never heard of again!

Re: John Lee - born Cape Breton
1801: Much earlier than I had thought.
Do you have parents names, siblings etc.

Hello Keith. I do not know the names of John's parents or whether he had any siblings. He is a mystery man!

Would imagine he change names around then, making it even more difficult to trace him.
