Welcome
Hi everyone...I wondered if anyone knows where the Katsina Palm sailed to dates Dec 1961 - March 1962. My Dad joined the ship in Rotterdam in Dec, and was back in Rotterdam in March 1962.
'Palm Line's regular run was the West Coast of Africa and typical ports of call would be Dakar, Takoradi, Freetown, Lagos and a few others, there will be others who served in Palm Line who will no doubt contact you, I think there is a Palm Line section in Shipping Companies on this site
Pat, Please read the post by Harry Rennie of today, he was on the Katsina Palm during the times you are looking for. Good Luck. John
Sorry Pat but I hadn't read your thread #2 (I must have been having a senior moment) JOhn

Thanks Doc Vernon....My dad joined the Katsina Palm in Rotterdam on 28/12/1961 and was discharged 05/03/1962....am I right to think that this voyage was probably to West Africa...or could it have gone backwards and forwards to the UK. He was on the Katsina from 19/03/1962 to 23/05/1962 as well.
Most likely if he joined in Rotterdam, then he would have gone t the West African ports and the back to the UK. By the dates you give that sounds about correct a wee bit over 2 Months. Cheers
Pat, Palm Line, Had a very strong hand down the West Coast of Africa and i agree with Vern he would most certainly have done the Ports suggested. The two i was in only traded with the West Coast and they where a Liverpool outfit, Also worth mentioning the only oil that was discharged in Liverpool as in the Liverpool side of the river, Was Palm Oil also brought in by Palm Line, Regards Pat Terry.
