Cannot understand why the person at the Archives cannot help you as there is the Ships Official Logs and Crew list for 1918

Best if you can get there yourself, or next best now is to request Copy of same .
They are again open for online Requests but you can only put in application on Friday late to Sunday 4pm They will not accept any other times.
    Cheers

Tom Seems strange that with all the Years at Sae there are4 not many Ships listed at all, this gives me thought that he must have a CRS10 Document, if this is so i will look up the Link to see if it can be traced??

    And on we go!

May be a logical reason Doc, my book isn't full of stamps, as some of my trips were 7 months, 12 months and 22 months from signing on to signing off. During my one trip period of 22 months other seamen will have signed on/off anything from 12 to 22 different vessels, especially those coasting or on liner trades.

And as his Service spanned so many Years we will also have to look at the later Series,as there may well be an overlap . this again will cost. ??

Another reason Ivan could be that he wasnt on too many federated ships. I have often thought is there no way of getting a hold of ones MNOPF contributions if his number was available, most people in the fund kept it as close as their discharge book. But there again if he was not on federated ships I dont think there was any law that said he had to pay it. My term on foreign vessels I didnt , but I did pay my self employed stamp. For the period shortly after the war both these funds would have been running. JS
