Searching for my biological father.
Hello, my name is Amberine Stansbridge and I am searching for my biological father Mr Peter Thompson. My birth mother, Sheila Ann Cooper (deceased) and Mr Thompson met while serving together between 1963-64. Unfortunately I do not have much information about Mr Thompson except that he came from Devon England. Having met my birth mother, she has since passed over, she told me that I was conceived New years eve 1963 while they where sailing down the Panama canal and that he was tall and blond.
I know there's a slim chance that someone may remember them or even know Mr Thompson but any information would greatly received.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, it means a great deal to me.
Thank you.

Hi Amberine.
Welcome to the site, Any idea of the ships name, I take it that your birth mother was a stewardess? Plenty of lads on here were at sea in the 60s.

Re: Searching for my biological father.
Hello Amberine
This is going to be a very hard task .
Do you have a First name at all for the Mr Thompson?
I am using my Dectective work here LOL
As your year of Conception was 1963 at a rough guess I would probably put him at around say the 20 odd mark>>
Now so far I have not been able to look at the Archives to see if there would be a Seamans Pouch etc but will later.
I have so far got two names of Thompson Born 1942 which may fit in??
One was Lawrence K Thompson and the other was Michael E J both born as said 1942 and both in Devon.
Having said this there are other Years I have not yet looked at ,there were none for 1940,or 1941 so I have to go forward to say 1943 /44 possibly as the latest?/
Any other help you may have please do post!
Cheers

Many thanks for your kind reply and help. The only information I have are that his name is Mr Peter Thompson.
I do have my birth mothers name and discharge number - Sheila Ann Cooper R772453 Born Camberwell London 1937.
Unfortunately this is all the info I have been given.
Many thanks.

Re: Searching for my biological father.
Looking from a different point of view at the possibility of which passenger companies British registered that would have carried stewardesses could have been packaging through the Panama Canal in 1963 and I would say my favourite choice would be piano line who did a Southampton Sydney via Panama with the Oriana you need somebody to check the Oriana sailing dates but I would say that's possibly a Prime Suspect
