Re#16, Hi Alison, this is what I was trying to post last night. From Ancestry:

Ancestry seems to have a good Search on a lot of things,i have not used then yet! I am with Scotlands People and FMP
Cheers
Ancestry is always my first port of call Doc because of the vast amount of records available excuse the pun:), FMP records are limited regarding Scotland but improving. SP is a pay as you go site only which is extremely annoying and expensive if having to use frequently. Having said that having no joy whatsoever on Alison's John Moore apart from his death reference.
Will continue to Search Alison never know what turns up,but do try and get those CRS10 Docs when you can,it will surely solve a lot of the Mystery!
Cheers
Not certain if related but, possibly of interest ?
Hopefully, Alison may know more ?

The role of two Lewis families in the setting up and operation of the internationally renowned Cunard Line in the 19th Century was very great.
The Macivers and the Morisons, linked by marriage and seafaring traditions that extended from Stornoway to Liverpool and beyond to North America and Jamaica, had, through their shipping and merchanting companies, a major role in how Cunard – officially called the British & North American Royal Mail Steam Packet Company – developed.

Will not be able to do that, unfortunately.

Don't recall ever having used that particular one Doc, the price is attractive, though could be a subsidiary of a more recognized one!! Will delve further when I return this evening.:)
