Re: Request for help - Richard Eric Thorn
Marian, hopefully you will find evidence that the man was actually at sea ! then pos some ships ?
Endless negative comments just slowed intended progress.
Best of luck.

Re: Request for help - Richard Eric Thorn
Marian yes you have a person, a name, wrong age and nothing concrete.
Hopefully, in time this may be proved correct.

Re: Request for help - Richard Eric Thorn
Certain Marian will look in and must say your every assistance is appreciated.
As said earlier "No worries Helen, there are a few on site that have access to differing areas and hopefully, between us we can assist further. Marian has assisted you so far and I am certain Doc will look in".
Hopefully, Marian as part of the team on site will continue to assist.
We really do need all expertise to crack this one.
Fingers crossed for the full picture ASAP.

Once again can I just say how grateful I am for everyone's help and interest which I appreciate given the very limited information I have must be very frustrating, I can only say that when I share any little piece of information my mums face lights up and if you could see that you would know it's worth it.
The sketchy and brief information we have comes from discussions my dad had with my granddad over the years but he was a very closed man and didn't talk about himself very much at all. I only wish I had been older and appreciated the man he was before he died (I was 16) and maybe he would have told me more I only remember him being a fabulous granddad with ulcerated legs (which he always hid from us) due to his time in the cold sea.
Hopefully the image has uploaded correctly but according to my mum my granddad claimed he was in New York when this was taken and is the only picture we have of him in uniform
Thank you again all
